THE CHRISTIAN RACE
If you knew who was watching you, would you do the the things you do? There is one who sees all that you do, hears all that you say and knows all that you think. It's a pretty scary thought, but God promised to make us pure if we'd turn to him and ask his forgiveness. Then He'll forget the bad things he saw and heard you do. Thank God for Jesus.
Get connected, & stay connected
What would your friends say if they knew you were a Christian? What does God say if they don't? If you act, talk and walk like those who don't believe in God, then you need to ask yourself, do I? You can not be a Christian if you are not Christ like; talk is cheap, you got to be a doer. Learning to share your faith is serious; Jesus said "deny me before men then I'll deny you before the Father". Simply put - if you're ashamed of Jesus now, he will not give you access to heaven; that leaves only one other place. The bible says "you must be born again" This goes way beyond the point of just saying I believe. You must admit that you are a sinner, repent and ask God's forgiveness, and understand that Jesus paid for your sins when he died on the cross. Something great happens when you are born again - supernaturally the Holy Spirit begins to live in you and will give you the power to do anything God asks of you. You will have the power to resist temptation, power not to sin, power to be bold in sharing your faith, power to be successful in all that you do. The Holy Spirit is the power that raised Jesus from the grave, there is nothing in the will of God that He won't give you the power to do. So begin by sharing your faith.
Everywhere we go we see images designed specifically to get us to buy some product or idea. If you see the same image over and over, you may begin to believe that it's real; but don't believe the hype. Its not just the media, this kind of deception has been practiced by Satan forever, and he's very good at it. All people have a need and desire to feel accepted by your peers and friends. Many people have bought into the lie that a certain body type is essential. The sad thing is, that once you buy into the lies you start to spread them too. People do all kinds of things to find acceptance, but they're just chasing an illusion created simply to get your money. If I wear certain clothes and maintain a certain weight and size, then I'll be accepted. Or maybe I wear a certain cologne then I have more success with the girls. What really shapes your view of you?
